VOCs: Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.

Phthalates: chemical with estrogenic properties: a chemical compound used as a plastic softener and in many personal grooming products. It is reported to be a possible cause of reproductive or developmental problems because it mimics a natural hormone.

CFCs: gas used in refrigerant and aerosols: a gas containing carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine, some forms of which damage the ozone layer in the Earth's atmosphere. Use: refrigerant, aerosol propellant.

Formaldehyde: pungent gas: a colorless gas with a distinctive smell. Use: manufacture of resins and fertilizers, preservation of organic specimens. HCHO

Methylene Chloride: DCM is also metabolized by the body to carbon monoxide potentially leading to carbon monoxide poisoning. Acute exposure by inhalation has resulted in optic neuropathy and hepatitis. Prolonged skin contact can result in DCM dissolving some of the fatty tissues in skin, resulting in skin irritation or chemical burns.

PBDE’s: Chemical Compound used as a flame retardant. The health hazards of these chemicals have attracted increasing scrutiny, and they have been shown to reduce fertility in humans at levels found in households.
